Filipinos: Soft and Forgiving Blood

While in the taxi today, I heard this news in the radio that the Philippine government is begging for the lives of those 3 Filipinos caught in China for drug trafficking. The 3 Filipinos were sentenced of death penalty.

"Under Chinese law, smuggling of 50 grams or more of heroin or equivalent drugs is punishable with the death penalty.

The death penalty will be carried on three Filipino nationals:

1. A male, 42 years old, who was convicted for smuggling 4,113 grams of heroin on 28 December 2008, in Xiamen;
2. A female, 32 years old, who was convicted for smuggling 4,110 grams of heroin on 24 December 2008, in Xiamen;
3. A female, 38 years old, who was convicted for smuggling 6,800 grams of heroin on 24 May 2008, in Shenzhen."

Source: DFA

Upon hearing this, I bursted to the cab driver saying "ito hirap sating mga Pinoy e, kapag tayo nahuli sa ibang bansa ng drug trafficking -- death penalty, kapag sila nahuli natin wala pang isang linggo nakalaya na."

There's a big problem with our government or our Filipino blood -- we are too soft, too forgiving. This is one of the reason why most of us has no pride and dignity when we are in another soil. I really want thank Manny Pacquiao for giving the Filipinos some pride.

When we are in their country we are treated like rats but when they are in our country they are treated like kings. I don't know whats wrong. If a Filipino guy will enter a building in his own country the security guard will look for an ID with intense body search but if they will see that the guest is a foreigner, Filipinos will happily greet them without checking their bags not even thinking that they could be the terrorist that will kill them.

I have nothing against to any foreigners but I got beef with my own blood.

To my president, Sir, please be a dignified man. Please, create a law that will sentence this fools to death when we also caught them.

I wrote to too much. Now I have more grammar lapses. Sorry.
I got my title from an article I read about a commentary of a previuos Singaporean Prime Minister, he mentioned that Filipinos are soft and forgiving.

She's Not Into You

I came around with this article when I'm trying to find a certain film/movie with the same title. I read alot of these types of articles and this is the only article I found more let say, sensible. This article is written by a woman so we might say that this is somehow true or almost true. Funny but I found this guide really nice.

9 Signs She's Not Into You
by Andrea Madison

You've been chasing that certain woman for weeks, maybe even months. She rarely calls you, she flirts with other guys, but you continue to hope that one day she'll come around. How do you know when to finally throw in the towel?

New Shopping Scams!!!

The sneakiest new shopping scams
By the editors of Shop Smart Magazine

Just as important as knowing how to sniff out great buys is understanding what it takes to avoid rip-offs. And with Internet fraud on the rise, it's getting tougher to outsmart the criminals.  Complaints to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, a joint operation of the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center, jumped 22 percent last year. The complaints include plenty of run-of-the-mill scams, like sellers who steal credit-card numbers or take the money and run. But those are child's play compared with what else is brewing.

The Truth About Ditching The iPhone For Android

The Truth About Ditching The iPhone For Android
by Nick Saint

Android vs iPhone

To switch, or not to switch?  It took me a long time to build up the courage to get rid of my iPhone and buy an HTC Droid Incredible. The iPhone is an amazing accomplishment, and I had a great few years with it. But there were a few things that kept driving me crazy.

It's been a few months since I took the plunge now, and I'm ready to deliver a final verdict. Here's what you need to know if you're thinking of making the switch.
AWESOME: Android gives the user much more power to customize Switching from the iPhone to Android is all about getting control. Apple is all about figuring out the right way for things to look and work, and making them look and work that way.

Why Intelligent People Fail

I think this is worth re-blogging. Read about this folks, I'm pretty sure you will get something from this article.

Why Intelligent People Fail?

ANSWERS:

1. Lack of motivation. A talent is irrelevant if a person is not motivated to use it. Motivation may be external (for example, social approval) or internal (satisfaction from a job well-done, for instance). External sources tend to be transient, while internal sources tend to produce more consistent performance.

The Law of Equivalent Exchange: First Law of Alchemy Part II

"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent and Exchange"

Sound's familiar? of course.. If you’ve seen Full Metal Alchemist. I like the Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood though, compared to the first one. It’s the story about these two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, on their search for the knowledge of reviving their mother using the alchemy. On their first attempt of human transmutation, the Door of Knowledge took Ed’s right arm and foot while Al lost his whole body. Ed put Al’s soul in an old armor.

If we will use the idea of the anime to our lives, is it really true that we have to lost or give something so we can gain something with an equal value?

For me, YES. The whole idea is somehow true to me. I guess you have to give something like to gain something. Like, if wanted to be happy give up sadness. It’s not easy though, but how can you smile or laugh if you are keeping something dark in your heart. If you wanted to lose weight then start working out. Equivalent Exchange right? If you wanted to move on, give up the old you so you can face the newer you. You don’t have to give up your past, coz everyone has our own story. We can learn from our past so don’t give it up.

If you lost something, probably, something will replace that with the same value or maybe more or better.

Keep the faith.

Law of Equivalent and Exchange: First Law of Alchemy

Why Everybody Hates a Villain?

Recently, a certain ex-policeman hostage a bus with 25 Chinese nationals in Manila. The whole hostage drama took 11 hours to get resolve. As a result 8 Chinese died and also the villain.

People hates villain but for me, I always have a tendency to like them, odd huh? but I dont think so. I remember Green Goblin said to Spiderman "In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you". Well the guy who hijacked the bus was, they say, a good policeman. They said that he was a decorated policeman and one of the top 10 police of the country back on his glory days until he turned into the dark side. But why? Well, for some reason he was dismissed on his duty being a policeman, without benefits or whatsoever. What the H? how do you expect this man to survive? I think with all these things and reasons, some good guys are turned to bad guys. The same reason why Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side. I guess he was thinking about this love ones. The hostages said that he was kind and calm right until he saw his brother getting arrested on TV... well there is a TV inside a tourist bus.

So why hate them if they were used to be the good guy? Is it unfair to hate them? Is it much better if we give them some lovin' and understanding?

I made some survey to my officemates why they hate a villain, here it goes:

- The girl villains all have the pretty clothes, goodlooking boyfriends that are head over heels sa kanila kaya nauuto nila and nice eyebrows! - Cathy
- Manipulative..cunning - Randy
- Because they hinder my happiness….. wahahha. - April
- Rather hate… I’d rather love them. They are more concentrated and focus! - Thunder Mags McLeod

Oh well, for me they shouldn't be hated... they are actually magnifying every goodness in this world.
